Drawing inspiration from what I've learned with video editing, this project was supposed to define a time-based digital media project by using any number of approaches or techniques learned from my program. For this 2 minute video, I wanted to showcase an Armenian legend through a video. The Armenian culture has many interesting stories and legends that none of them has been used to create it visually. Therefore, creating this video is a first in my community.

The legend of Akhtamar is about an Armenian princess named Tamar who lived on Akhtamar Island in Lake Van (in Historic Armenia). She fell in love with a commoner who would swim from the mainland to the island each night while she light his way for him. One day, she was caught and had her light smashed. This left the boy in the middle of the lake without knowing which direction to swim. They say his dying cries of "Akh, Tamar..." (Oh, Tamar) can be heard to this day at night. Thus naming the island "Akhtamar".
